We have been busy behind the scenes updating and playing with different formats, styles, layouts and widgets to bring you an easy to navigate, easy to follow blog. I know that you will agree that our activities have dramatically improved the Alternative Medicine Blog dramatically.
Needless to say, compared to other more established blogs we are still in our infancy. But I am excited about what has been happening here the past three months, and I am looking forward to be bringing you even more useful health information.
Today’s latest news are very hard to follow, especially the so called “health news”. One day a particular cure or vitamin is the latest fashion, the next day it is humanities worst evil. By creating the Alternative Medicine Blog I am hoping to take away from the consumer confusion of what cures and modalities work, and which “potion” are better left on the shelves. All information found on this blog will be backed up by scientific research, especially posts pertaining to your well being. By focusing on relevant, sound, scientific research we can close the gap between the allopathic, a mostly reactionary model of medicine, practiced in this country and a more holistic approach based on prevention of disease. There are great modalities in both models, but unfortunately, until recently, there has been a tuck-of-war happening between Complementary/ Alternative Medicine and the Allopathic “Western” model, rather than trying to find common ground. And clearly the looser in this battle has been the health care consumer, you.
Once people can put their egos aside and really focus on what is best for the patient we can move to a new paradigm of medicine. This model of medicine will be truly integrative, putting the patient and his/ her needs first. We have ways to go, there is a lot of educating to do, and I promise I will do my part on bringing you the latest news and facts about Alternative Medicine.
First things first. Keeping you up to date is easier than you might think. You can subscribe to the Alternative Medicine Blog via RSS Feed, you can subscribe to our Free Monthly Newsletter or better yet, you can bookmark the Alternative Medicine Blog. We hope to bring you a forum in which it is possible for you to communicate your experiences about health care, what health means to you individually, and mostly, what you are doing in order to keep disease at bay. We want to hear from you and by contributing your own content via the “post a comment” links, you take ownership of a little piece of cyberspace with equally concerned and optimistic surfers.
We have been putting important educational series about Crohn’s Disease on-line. Right now we are featuring a series of posts on Mind-Body Communication. The mind is the most important tool in fighting or preventing disease.
It is my hope you will find the Alternative Medicine Blog informative, thought provoking, and an important tool in your quest for optimum health.
Beste Gesundheit,
Werner
