The Living Well in Breast Cancer Survivorship Program Introduction

The Absenger Cancer Education Foundation (ACEF) is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Johnson Family Cancer Center to aid breast cancer survivors with their survivorship needs.

ACEF’s “Living Well in Breast Cancer Survivorship (LWBCS)” program is now available FREE of charge to any West Michigan breast cancer survivor at Johnson Family Cancer Center in Muskegon through a community grant from Susan G. Komen Michigan from April 1, 2016, to March 31, 2017.

Classes will be held Monday evenings, Wednesdays at lunch time, and Saturday mornings (find the most up to date class schedule here).

The Living Well in Breast Cancer Survivorship (LWBCS) provides breast cancer survivors and opportunity for support to address emotional, social, and functional symptoms of the disease and side effects of treatment.

Breast cancer survivors who regularly participated in similar programs showed improved emotional, functional, social, and physical well-being during active treatment and after treatment is over.

Mind-body medicine research reveals that breast cancer survivors can expect improvement in fatigue, mood, anxiety, sleep quality, immune function, pain and overall quality of life.

Should you have any questions about the “Living Well in Breast Cancer Survivorship (LWBCS) program, please don’t hesitate to contact Werner by phone at (616) 607-7360 or via e-mail at werner@amacf.org.
